Winner: SA Best Practice of the Year in 2009
Chartered Wealth Solutions won this prestigious award in 2009.
The SA Best Practice of the Year Award celebrates excellence in the financial advisory profession by recognising the most professionally run practice each year.
“The SA Practice of the Year Award looks at the standards of business management in 130 independent financial advisory practices across the country, providing them with detailed feedback on how they fare. This facilitates enhancements that help practices achieve more sustainable, profitable operations, ultimately resulting in better service delivery to consumers,” says Esmé Davies of Celestis Practice Management. The aim of the award is to raise the professionalism of the local financial advisory industry.”
Winners: SA Financial Planner of the Year in 2005 and 2008
We have two financial planners who have been the Planner of the Year – John Campbell in 2008 and Lionel Karp in 2005. Pat Blamire was a finalist for Planner of the Year in 2010. Donovan Adams was a finalist in the 2013 and 2014 Planner of the Year.
The FPI Financial Planner of the Year Award is the highest accolade a professional financial planner can obtain. Jointly sponsored by Personal Finance and the University of the Free State’s Centre for Financial Planning Law, the adjudication process starts with the completion of an entry form and submission of a portfolio of evidence (replaces the case study from 2011). This is followed by a site visit and panel interview. Entrants must qualify to go through to each round.
Independent judges range from academics, industry experts and FPI Board members who participate in each round. The finalists and overall winner are announced at the FPI Annual Convention Gala Dinner.
Why do financial planning through a CFP ® (Certified Financial Planner)?
At Chartered Wealth, all our financial planners have the required financial planning qualifications, and we have nine Certified Financial Planners who can assist you with your financial planning requirements.
The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is a professional certification mark for financial planners.
To receive authorisation to use this designation, the candidate must meet education, examination, experience and ethics requirements, and pay an ongoing certification fee.
According to the FPI (Financial Planning Institute), the best financial planning results come from working with an accredited FPI Financial Planning professional. The FPI has three levels of professionally certified members, of which the Certified Financial Planner ® professional/CFP ® professional is the highest.
We are an FPI approved practice
Chartered Wealth Solutions is a FPI Approved Professional PracticeTM. The FPI brought about this status to enable consumers to identify professional planning practices which offer financial services of the highest standard. Approved professional planning practices are financial planning role models in their communities.
The majority of our planners are CFP® professionals who must meet certain education, examination, experience and ethics requirements. So, when you deal with a CFP® professional at Chartered Wealth Solutions, you know that you are working with a knowledgeable, experienced and professional financial planner. As a practice, we encourage all our planners to obtain the CPF® status.
As an Approved Professional PracticeTM, Chartered Wealth Solutions adheres to the FPI’s Code of Ethics and Responsibility and our policies and procedures are consistent with this.
Furthermore, we will undergo three-yearly reviews to confirm adherence to the licensing criteria. We also commit to inform the FPI immediately should any changes in the business occur that might influence the approval criteria.
As an FPI Approved Professional Practice®, Chartered Wealth Solutions undertakes to mentor its young professionals. The aim is for these new planners to be able to demonstrate in their knowledge, skills and abilities that they understand and embrace the principles laid out in the FPI Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility. In addition, Chartered Wealth’s mentorship programme is also designed to engender a passion for the industry and for putting clients first in the new generation of financial planners.
