What makes us unique?
No two people are the same. This is why we believe in crafting unique retirement solutions for each client.
Experience has taught us that getting to know our clients is crucial if we are to create truly meaningful retirement plans. We call this process of discovering what is important to you Life Planning – it forms the foundation of our retirement planning process. The life planning meeting – your second meeting with us – helps us to understand your history and principles, giving us insight into your value system. More superficially, we are also able to clarify what your lifestyle requirements will be in retirement, and this guides our investment approach.
Most importantly, the time we spend life planning affords us the opportunity to support our clients emotionally and to guide you through what is likely to be a challenging life transition.
Meet out Life Planner, Kim Potgieter, who introduces the concept of Life Planning in the video below:
Our four-step retirement planning process
Meeting 1: interview
In this meeting, we give you an opportunity to become acquainted with Chartered Wealth Solutions. Our process is explained and we answer any questions you may have.
Meeting 2: Retirement Life Planning
This meeting enables you to discover and explore what it means to retire and gives you insight into how your life will change. This, in turn, creates the opportunity for us to get to know you a little better so that we are able to understand your unique journey through life. As we come to understand your distinctive set of values, your outlook on life and your as yet unfulfilled dreams, we are better placed to get you where you want to go, and can then structure your finances to help you achieve your desired lifestyle goals.
Meeting 3: Retirement Planning
Once we have a life plan in place, we are able to structure a bespoke financial plan for you. In this meeting, we crunch the numbers and look at your will and your investments and we cover tax, estate and income planning. When your retirement plan is ready, it is couriered to your home, affording you the time to peruse the file at your leisure.
Meeting 4: Implementation
In our final meeting with you, your complete retirement plan will be explained to you in as much detail as you require. Any questions you may have will be answered, and any changes you would like implemented can be requested in this meeting. At this point you have paid for your retirement plan, and are under no obligation to implement with Chartered Wealth Solutions.
Should you choose to implement with us, an annual review meeting will be scheduled to track any changes that occur in your life. In this way, we can ensure that your retirement plan is always up-to-date.
Once your retirement life plan is implemented, this is reviewed on at least an annual basis. The retirement life plan is purely a plan for what could happen in the future, and life happens in between. The values of your investments are updated, lump sums reviewed, and your income requirements reviewed.
Should an unforeseen event happen in between annual reviews, we again meet to see what the implication of this could be on your retirement life plan.
