We consider Chartered’s commitment to growing and equipping its people distinctive – and life coaching benefits the employee, the client, and the company. Chartered employs the services of its very own trusted coach, Colleen Joy-Page, who is now part of the Chartered Family as she facilitates the cultivation of skills needed for us to offer exceptional service to our clients. We also include such topics as Diversity and Transformation, Gender Equity, Strengthfinder and the Enneagram in our learning as a Family.
The success of our business is reflected in the quality, imagination and initiative of our employees. We have therefore developed Chartered’s Rewards and Recognition programme to reward our employees for their individual contributions and achievements.
Mentorship is a great way to ensure sharing of knowledge and experience. We urge all our staff to have a mentor to guide them through their professional careers, in the belief that effective self-actualisation occurs from learning from more experienced colleagues. We have developed a culture of learning, and mentorship is a natural extension of that culture.
Each activity for the whole Chartered Family has a purpose greater than purely time out of the office. We aim to encourage crossing of boundaries and interaction between colleagues who are less familiar with each other. Some of our activities include the amazing race at the zoo, drumming, a gladiator challenge, go-karting, ten-pin bowling, a cook-a-thon and a Minute-to-Win-It competition.
Chartered supports those who are actively contributing to the transformation of South Africa. Through carefully considered partnerships, the Chartered Family has made significant contributions, not only financially, but through hands-on involvement. Our activities have ranged from ad hoc participation in Slipper Day (Reach for a Dream), Takkie Tax (Johannesburg Child Welfare), Mandela Day (for example, Baby Moses Homes), to year-long partnerships with Border Collie Rescue, Ark Animal Shelter, the FPI Financial Literacy workshops, and LEAP Science and Maths School.
The Chartered Family has created more sustained relationships with Iphutheng Primary School in Alexandra, and Women At The Threshing Floor, an Alexandra-based organisation helping child-headed households.
